There are many churches-monasteries in Tbilisi and its vicinity, which have a long history and centuries.  Unfortunately, there are many that many people don't even know about.  One of them is the Cathedral of Saint David, an architectural ensemble of the 6th century and one of the shrines of Tbilisi, located in the center of Mtatsminda. The monastery was founded by Anton the Recluse in the 6th century. Father Anton lived in seclusion, and the name came from this - the solitary person, or the recluse.
