  • Day one: 

Tbilisi – Zugdidi

09:00 – Departure from Tbilisi

11:30 – Stop at Ricoti pass

15:00 – Arriving in Zugdidi and seeing Dadiani Palace, which was built in XIX century. Until then it was under the ownership of Megrelian noble man’s Davits sister’s, Pupi’s fortress. The museum complex consists of fortresses of Samegrelo’s queen Ekaterine Chavchavadze-Dadian and Niko Dadian, also Karis monastery and botanical garden laid out by Dadians. Queen’s fortress was re-designed in the 60s of XIX century by the German architect G. Rise. He built the second floor archs and also added wide fliggels.

  • Day two:

Zugididi – Lamkheri – Mestia

09:00 breaakfast

10:00 leaving the hotel and heading to Mestia

11:00 - Visiting Enguris Hydro- Electro power station. It’s the biggest power station in the south Cacasus. It was built in 1961 – 1978.

13:00 – Arriving in village Lamkheri. Here you will have the opportunity to get to know the ways of making soap and Svan hats traditional way. Also taste honey. Svanetian soap is made by ecologically clean ingredients. For centuries it was made by Svani women with ashes and animal fats.

16:00 – Visiting Mestia Ethnographical Museum. The history of museum is almost as long as century. The journey into history begins with the discovery of archaeological material in Svaneti. And then we have a numismatic study. The next halls are primarily for Christian treasures. Where there is displayed IX-XVIII centuries masterpieces such as: 40 Sebastian’s martyrs’ image, Byzantine embroidered image, Venice cross, sura sacrificed by Tamar the king – the oldest manuscript covered with drawings that we have our hands on – Adishian Otkhtavi, 897 year. And others. Last gallery is solely for rich ethnographical material

Going back to the hotel and supper

  • Day three:

Mestia – Kvanchianari – Ifkhi – Mestia

10:00 – Breakfast

11:00 - Leaving Mestia and heading to Kvanchianari

11:30 – Arriving in village kvanchainari, masterclass of getting gold on the river shore. Walking distance to the rivers 10 minutes.

13:00 - Arriving in Latali territorial unit – village Ifkhi, where you will take part in making, salt, sulguni cheese, Swiss cheese and kubdari.

Dinner in Ifkhi – Svanetian cuisine

16:00 Back to Mestia

Free time

19:00 Supper at the hotel and overnight.

  • Day four: 

Mestia – Adishi – Ushguli – Mestia

09:00 Breakfast

11:00 Leaving Mestia for Adishi.

12:00 Visiting village Adishi – Adishi is one of the oldest villages of Svaneti and is rich with historical and cultural materials. There we have 3 churches – Curch of resurrection of Jesus Crist X-XI Centuries, where we have paintings done with high mastery from XII century; end of XI century saint George’s monastery, paintings of episodes of Saints life and XIII century Archangel’s Monastery.

15:00 Leaving for Ushguli – Ushguli is one of the highest settlements in Europe, 2200 meters above the sea. Ushguli isn’t just one village but combination of 5 villages. In Ushguli you can visit Lamaria- saint Marys temple, Svan towers, and also King Tamar’s summer house.

Back to Mestia and supper at the hotel.

  • Day five:

Mestia – Zugdidi

09:00 – Breakfast

11:00 Visiting Mikhel Khergiani home museum. On the first floor of the museum, in the Svanian Machubi is exponated  a well-known mountain-climbers, Mikheil Khergian’s private things_ typical material for Svanian life such as: furniture, dishes, clothes, weapons of agriculture, mountaineer equipment,  images of saints, and three halls are merely for Georgian mountaineer school’s development history,  Khergian’s  adventures to worlds different countries, pictures, rewards, gifts, some of which are: paintings, books, documental movies, V. Vysotsky songs, which was dedicated to Khergiani, and also newest images of Georgian mountaineers’ achievements

12:00 Leaving for Zugdidi

15:00 Arriving in Ethno-village “Sisatura”– village consists of three different spaces: first one is ethnographical zone, where we have typical households for Zugdidi. Here we will come across Megrelian Oda and Pitafitsara: second space is recreational – with a man-made lake; The third space is agro-space. Here we can see one year and long-standing species typical for Samegrelo.
