Ujarma fortress. Ujarma built during the III-IV centuries, the reign of King Asfagur. But behavior castle of Ujarma as strong city connected name of Vakhtang Gorgasali. Exactly here in 502 year, king Vakhtang died in the battle against the Persians.

 

Telavi is an old and historical city of Georgia. Here you can see the fortress and the plane (Platanus) tree. The Telavian fortress or the castle of Irakli II is popularly known as "Batonis-tsikhe" which means "Fortress of the Lord". The fortress was the residence of Kakhetian kings in the XVII-XVIII centuries, here is the historical and ethnographic museum with a rich collection. As for Plane tree of Telavi, this tree is a symbol of the city and this Plane tree is now either 800 or even 900 years old.

 

Duke Alexander Chavchavadze`s estate with its garden in Tsinandali. The park and the house used to be the gathering place of poets and artists of the 19th century.

 

In the center of the Alazani Valley, 18 km north of Telavi, you can see the greatest temple of medieval Georgia - the Alaverdi Cathedral (St. George's Cathedral) and the monastery complex. At one time it was one of the tallest buildings in the world (it is more than 50 m), but now Cathedral is the second tallest in Georgia.
